I am 47 years old, married to my soul mate. We have our own company (System Resources Inc) supporting a software application for not/non profits and we also do web application/development. I was diagnosed in the Spring of 2002 with DCIS.

Always being good about going for my annual checkups every year - the news that I had breast cancer in my right breast floored me. Thankfully it was caught in the early stages.

Fortunately I was in good hands and had a fabulous team of Doctors at Virginia Mason here in Seattle. They made going through this so much easier. Taking time to talk, explain and just listen to our concerns.

I had a biopsy, two surgeries and then 6 1/2 weeks of radiation treatment. All in all I feel that I am truly blessed for a number of reasons.

This all happened close to 5 years ago. I found amazing support in my friends and family, colleges and surprisingly business associates that I chose to tell.

WE can make a difference, doing what we can to contribute to finding a cure.
